1." Lament " by Pluto Your first page is absolutely *gorgeous.* The rest was intriguing, although I think I'd like it better in a paper format than in a wait-a-minute-for-each-page-to-download format; it should've been a quicker read where it was easy to flip between pages; I think I would've gotten more out of it... I liked your use of Japanese samurai customs and stuff, although some of the best stories are the ones I've read in history books...^_-;;;

2. " Courtly Love" chapter 8 by Julie Bihn Aw, c'mon...don't make me read it again... ^^;;; I do like Miriam, though...Jenner was an idiot this month...wonder why...^^;;; It says something that the queen still has a crush on him after he pulled that stunt, though...(no, it doesn't say the queen's acting out of character ^^;;;)... I really should've made the story more coherent....Sorry the story of the kingdom didn't make any sense; I thought it did, but I was too close to it to know...

3. "Flight " by Alexe Wow. Your art was beautiful, your story disgusting and twisted, which is what I loved about it. That's why I can't really say much more; I can't think of anything wrong with it...maybe it's a bit vaguer than I would've liked (I would've liked to see HOW he wound up with the Volerians? Or maybe why he thought they used "machines" to fly?)...I loved how your last page was so beautiful and peaceful, as a contrast to the previous page ("Will they break my shoulder blades first?" is one of the most moving images I've read in a while...)

4. "Winged Creature " by Alex Your protagonist is sweet, trying to help that tree... I liked your winged creature too. You have more narration than is normally seen in comics...that's okay, but it makes it hard for me at least to look at your pictures; one could almost just take away the pictures and just have a story to read... But the story itself was cute, nice and self-contained.

5. "jingles " by Ameko That was rather cute; your kitty thing--er, *flap cat*--was adorable. The 'powder that stings a lot' was kind of strange--it might've made sense if I knew anything about your characters, but I really didn't...I'd like to see some backstory on them. Your art was well-done; inking would help it, but it still looked good...

6 "Taking Flight: Angels & Visitations " by Aziza Your art was pretty cool; I would've liked if you had a better way to define your panels (like white space...), but I have no room to complain. ^_^;

7. "Freebird " by Bowen That was really interesting...the first four pages made me literally HATE the guy, but the fifth...I still didn't like him, but I understood better... I don't think there's any way to read the manga without getting a tune in your head (provided you know a tune to go with it; the only one I know offhand is that remake that puts some in the middle...I think it's from the '80s...^^;) I think having lyrics as the only words worked...and thanks for the idea (I was wanting to try to make a *music video* once, but I know I'd never have the patience...hmm...)...

8. "Small miracles " by Darkhorse It was interesting too, but I think you gave too much away in your description of it...well, maybe not; I don't know if I would've thought of him as a 'god' if you hadn't said that...but I was thinking this was going to be like some kind of ongoing story with a god who went around fixing the small problems in the world or something....dunno WHY I thought that...^^;;;

9 " Great Escape" by divine-chan The story was sad. I can see it happening, but it was still sad. You did as much with it as can be done in three pages. And your art wasn't horrible...kind of light, but that's typical for MOM entries...^_^;

10 " Love" by Dora It reminded me of George Herbert's "Love III" (http://www.library.utoronto.ca/utel/rp/poems/herbert13.html) and other poems of the period where God and Jesus are seen as the lover, the forgiven sinner as the beloved... (I like Herbert. ^_^) It was strange (I can't really see a real angel kissing anybody, regardless of gender...) but I think I liked it...the moral, at least. ^_^

11 "A Conversation Between... (part 2)" by D_Art That was insane...even nutty, if you will. I could try to figure out how it's a deep metaphor for modern society, etc., but I think I'll just say it was funny. ^_^ Nice artwork.

12. " Wings" by Emma Guerard That was weird...your 'shortcuts' looked fine...in fact, probably better than if you had tried to draw pictures in every panel... The words were much more prominent than the drawings...not that there's anything wrong with that, especially when the story itself was so strange...

13. " "GEA" green eyed assasion" by Jmo Maxwell Your handwriting wasn't too bad; the main problem was a few occasions where the writing was just too small to read... Action stories aren't really my thing...I did enjoy the narrations, though... I had to read it again to get that there was an assassin killing that first guy... ^^;;;

14." Metal Angel Rhapsody" by Jo That was weird too, but usually that's a good thing. The only thing is, if it's weird, I don't understand it...seemed like a lot of build-up for your ending, but it's a good little trip. Your first page was very pretty, and your art was solid. Nice wings.

15." The Star Castle" by Kaice Your winged girl is so pretty; she looks like the one from "On Your Mark." ^_^ Your guy was pretty, too, and the story was sweet. I love how you draw your characters. ^_^ Your lettering would've been a little better if you had been careful to keep your letters straight across, but they looked much much better than mine. ^_^

16." Seven Jewels Chapter 2" by Kasumiko Thank you very much for the recap; it was extremely useful. ^_^ Your cover was gorgeous. I liked the seven parallel worlds thing...your last two pages added a dark undertone that I think had been missing previously--not that that's a bad thing, just different. ^_^

17. " Winged Things" by Kitchenman Your art was well-done...I didn't quite understand your story, maybe partially because I didn't know your characters (was I supposed to?) or the universe they're in...

18. "Escape..." by Steph Levy You had a lot of nice phrases in it (I admire your ability to blatantly state the two topics in one panel on page one and make it sound cool ^_^). You do amazingly well for using a Bic pen; only your lettering suffers (and I have NO room to talk about lettering ^_^;;;). But then, I love your handwriting (just once in a while it was really sloppy...) It was kind of a trippy story, but then, that's kind of what online manga is all about. ^_^

19." WITH: Hajii~Korekarajyaa!" by Renie Benie Your principal looks a lot like the one in "Kodomo no Omocha." Hizuki's idiocy was rather funny. ^_^ Looks like you've set up for some interesting stuff to happen, so I'll wait for it. ^_^

20. " Away" by Saki Romance and political intrigue? It sounds like you're starting in the middle of something...nothing wrong with that... Are you planning to continue? It looks like you could... Your character designs/clothes were really cool.

21." The Great Escape" by Sami That made me giggle. ^_^ It reminds me of how I felt in high school...heck; sometimes I'd be tempted to do that in college...^_^; Your art was really simple but clean (and inked! Good for you! ^_^), and I had no trouble understanding what was happening. Kind of a comic strip, but well-done.

22." Devil Elf & Sand-Witch " by Van Nguyen Your style is unique--simple, but nicely done--feels like a real manga. Did you color with inks? I'm not sure if you *meant* to just color some stuff and leave other parts blank, or if it was just done because you ran out of time or whatever (I've done that, anyway ^_^;), but it looked nice that way. Did you ink with a paintbrush, too?! (If so, I am impressed...) The story was a nice romp; the last page was good (we were all THINKING it, I think, but it was still nice to see ^_^).

23." Spam" by Spam All right! Doodling during class! I haven't done enough of that this semester...^^;;; AND mechanical pencils? You are cool. ^_^ (And yes, your guy *is* cute. Er...thanks for letting me know it was a guy...^_^;) Your piece was even well-laid-out...the main objection I would make is that it's not a manga...^_-;;;

24." POISON" by Wetheril Your artwork is pretty and very professional-looking; it's too bad your blacks aren't solid...(you can get a more solid effect if you just paint with ink instead of using a marker...dunno about grays, though...) ::spittakes:: That's a MAN?! I'm surprised the newly healed girl thought it was a man...^_-;;; The story itself was kind of...I dunno; maybe a little vague? But if you want to use so few pages and actually have a decent layout, that's pretty much all you can put in. ^_^ I was entranced by the poison part, anyway; it seemed like more of myth than anything else, but it was still compelling....

25." Cammy Self defence class" by Tang Well, *I* had read it before, anyway...I remembered Usagi and Ami...somehow my mind had forgotten the blood, though...^^;;; I personally kind of enjoy seeing Usagi in pain, though ^_^;

26." Remembrance" by Myew (late entry) Your artwork is beautiful; I love your use of blues. My biggest complaint would be when you claim to suck (page 9). That's rather an insult to those of us artists who...well...I'll say...*aren't as artistically gifted* as you are. ^_^; It had a very nice feel to it...I didn't quite understand the story itself, but if you hang out here long enough you'll realize I'm just not good at understanding stories, so it's nothing personal. ^_^

27." Dream Catcher 3" by Fie san (late entry) ...I already e-mailed you my comments, so I don't think I can remember them to say again. ^_^; I really liked it, though, and, since I have the maturity of a 12-year-old, my favorite part was when Hiro got all sparkly to flirt with the guys...^_^;;; ((My vote: "Flight " by Alexe)) --Julie Duchess of Botan Rice Candy and Gadget fan (I'm currently looking at e-mail servers; please address all replies to: jbihn@u.arizona.edu) http://www.juliestudio.com
