1." Frozen Fingers " by Alexe Cinz   I like the art and the colored part at the end is really nice.  I'd probably appreciate the story more if I studied Souijiro's background, though. ^^

2. " By The Lily Pond" by Ameko   Funny and surreal. I too have noticed bunch of characters who have special powers never seem to use it for anything useful. ^^

3. "Alone In The Snow " by Dadji   Nice and atmospheric. I wonder where he buried her after she died?

4. "Chanced Encounter " by Darkhorse   I like the style.  I thought page 6 was neat where the notepad blends in the middle.  It's true that you didn't need to have the guy explain what he's feeling.  As they say, the audience's imagination may be more interesting than what the author may've had in mind.

5. "Secret of Lily " by Kaice   Plot thickens.  Something's afoot.  Good guy or bad guy? I like how the story gets to the point with the main character saying, "I'm 16 and learned that I'm a super heroine." Sort of leaves one hanging at the end, though, as expected with stories like these.

6 "Glorious " by Mamoru Nishikawa   Ah, shoujo.  Pretty art.  Nicely CGed and the characters are lively. it's sort of tough to critique ongoing series though, since comics like these usually depend on how they all work as a whole.  The story seems pretty interesting though.

7. "Genesis Cooking "by Rainybutton    Who said it had to have a story?  This one reminds me of those little segments that appear right after a manga or cartoon to give historical facts or tips on pet grooming. It might've been interesting if there was more of an interaction with the characters and the cooking itself, though. Maybe add a sidekick who messes up or something. As they say...now I know, and knowing is half the battle! G.I. Joe! (starts singing)

8. "Mimiko and the Frog Prince " by Tang   Tang and his usual sense of humor.  I noticed the male characters in his comics are a little more nicer than the female ones. ^^  And they usually get eaten or shot at.

9. "Lily Pond " by Seraphim   It's simple but it's quite sweet.  We all need a hug occasionally. ^^ *group hug*

10. "Lilia " by Suika    The kid kind of looks like that kid from King of Fighters.   I think couple more pages could've been added perhaps to make it more of a..story.

11. "Let's Take a Picture " by wsp    Pretty funny.  This would make an interesting commercial. Introducing..the new waterproof Kodak 3000!  ^^

12. "Promise by the Lily Pond " by Evey Wong      Ah, looks to be a beginning of some sort of series. Some interesting humor.  I was a little confused with reading right to left considering you had to read the letters left to right.

13. "Courtly Love " chapter IX by Julie Bihn    I like looking at this series.  I like the browns and earth tones. it has a nice sense of consistancy.  I like ongoing series when it plays like stand alone stories.  This one kind of does it.   The giant frozen sweatdrop bit is pretty funny.

14. "The Knight of Staves Gambit " Act one by Kenji    Hmmm, looks to be an ongoing series. Hard to say. Will have to see what happens later.  May have to see the series as a whole to understand it.  It seems to load kind of slow on my modem. >_<

15. "At The Pond " by D_Art    My first idea was to have a dialogue scene where the two talks about Koi fish and their favorite kinds of sushi.  After a while, I changed the story a bit.   The scene in the comic is D-Day at the beach at Omaha, where as you know, many American soldiers have died.   I'd probably assume the main character too died in battle.   But if it becomes a shoujo impro, he probably lives.  Perhaps he returns home but as a seriously wounded soldier and fears his girl won't accept him.

16. "Doubt " by Fie san Ah ha!  I had first expected Shinji and Tomoko give each other the same exact gift to each other (assuming Shinji was shopping for Tomoko and was looking at what he was about to buy her), but then I could tell I was wrong when I saw the Gundam model...so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out what Shinji got her.  I like how the story is revealed piece by piece like a mystery story, along with the classic flashbacks, and an ending that sort of ties everything. You have a keen sense of story structure.  I'd like to see you tackle a full-on mystery suspense story.  Only thing I had a problem with this manga was the button on the bottom. The "next" button should be on the right and "back" should be on the left!  C'mon, even the web browser knows that! ^O^

My vote goes to:

*drum roll*
